This coffee is without question drawn from the finest Colombian plantations. It comes from Nariño, the southern-most province of Colombia, which means that the beans develop more slowly, in one of the country’s coolest growing regions. A coffee processing mill in the area selects from the production of high altitude farms producing the best coffee in a particular crop year. There are no new high production hybrids in this area, only the traditional “Bourbon” and “Caturra” trees. The coffee is prepared according to strict “Costa Rican” standards and is essentially defect free. You will find the coffee to be silken yet far more flavorful than other Colombian coffees with a hint of the characteristic caramel-y sweetness that many experts say distinguishes the best Colombian coffees.
